Last night I started having regular uncomfortable contractions around 1 AM. They became less intense around 5 AM, but more regular....coming every 2-3 minutes! Could this be it?!!! Perfect timing, I had an appointment scheduled for noon with my doctor so we would know for sure by then :) So, Travis and I made the 2 hour drive to Tulsa in hopes of it being baby day. I timed the contractions all the way there....consistently at 2-3 minutes still, woohooo!!! We arrived in Tulsa around 11:30 and decided to eat some lunch before the appointment at 12:10. Wouldn't ya know it, while we were eating the contractions completely stopped! Figures right? Just like when your car makes a funny noise until the minute you drive into the repair shop!! Oh well.
Progress is being made, we are getting a little closer. My doctor is concerned that baby may be getting too big for a regular delivery, so he would like to see this little guy come soon. We have a tentative induction scheduled for Monday. They will start me out on a really low dose of pitocin and see how it goes for a few hours. If nothing starts, the doctor will send me home and we'll try again on Tuesday. If Tuesday is a no go, we'll just play it by ear from there and hope something happens later in the week. So, while it wasn't baby day, we got baby day scheduled :)
After the appointment, we made a mad rush back to Norman to be with the kids for the tornado outbreak. The NWS had issued a High Risk warning for central Ok...GREAT, Norman is right in the bulls eye! Exciting and scary. Luckily, the "outbreak" produced small tornadoes that didn't do much damage, and nothing severe went through our area :) We did get in the tornado shelter (man it's HOT down there!!!) for a while because the sirens were going off and there were some storms overhead with some rotation, but in the end the only thing we got was a TON of rain. The street was literally like a river when we came out of the shelter. The neighbors all came out and the kids had lots of fun playing in the water :) Nathan brought his boat out and let it float down the "river" in the street...so much fun!
