Hello! Thank you for the sweet note! I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying the blog with all of the pics of the kids and their adventures. I have not be very good about having pictures printed so this is the best way to get everything organized and written down. I will keep posting new activities and fun information about the kids and our family as it happens...usually a few times a week or so.

Cat's & Dogs

It RAINED cats and dogs yesterday!

We got 2 inches here in Norman and I think both inches fell within a 20 minute time period. I got a couple of pics of our backyard after only 10 minutes of rain. If you click on the pictures they will enlarge quite a bit....you can clearly see the rain falling in the pics if you look close.

Touch A Truck

Today was Touch A Truck day at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds which is just down the street from our house. It was awesome! Every truck or emergency vehicle you could imagine was there. Firetruck, ambulance, helicopter, trash truck, mail truck, etc. There were probably 50 different vehicles for the kids to climb up in and explore. The horns were really loud therefore Nathan really didn't enjoy it much, but Natalie seemed to like them. I can't say that I blame Nathan for not liking the horns....imagine 50 horns going off at the same time!!! It was really loud but most of the kiddos there were loving every minute of their big truck adventure.

When we finished up with TAT, we strolled through the Flea Market and over to the dog show that was going on at the fairgrounds. All of the perfectly groomed dogs were on their grooming tables where people could pet them. The kids LOVED this part of our outing. One of the the dogs we loved on was huge...Petie was 105 lbs at only 3 years! He was so soft and very gentle with the kids.

Cheerios Anyone???

Natalie helped herself to snack this morning....we walked into the kitchen to check on her and look what we found! Notice Hannah looking on as if to say, "you gonna eat that?"

The Dominator!

The kids and I stopped in to see mom at work at the Weather Center and look what was in the parking lot!!!  The Dominator! Can you tell we have been watching too many Weather Channel tornado shows??? How cool is this car??? Mom's co-worker (Thanks Alicia!!) let us borrow her camera to take some pics of the kiddos with this awesome car.

Travis and I would love to go chasing sometime. Unfortunately we don't have thousands of dollars to pay for a formal tornado tour, and our deductible is too high to take our own cars which would probably even out with the cost of the tornado tour .. ha! So, guess we will have to get our fix by watching the non-stop coverage of severe weather on TV this spring.

Nathan loves tornadoes as much as his mommy and daddy do. Yesterday, he took a "tornado tube" to school for show and tell (kind of ironic, huh?) It is basically two 2 liter soda bottles joined together...one filled with water. Flip it with the full bottle on the top and then rotate it a few times and voila....a tornado forms in the water and slowly flows down into the lower bottle. Apparently the kids at school (and the teachers) just loved it! His show and tell was a hit :) It tied in perfectly with their recycling themed day being that it was made with recycled soda bottles. New Product Idea...I Need Your Input!

I am looking for a few volunteers to try out my latest product idea....the re-usable snack pouch! We go through so many zip lock baggies at our house I thought I would give this idea a try. The inside of the pouch is made with a water-proof nylon that can be easily wiped down and re-used over and over again. If it gets too messy for a simple wipe down, toss it in the washing machine and let it air dry. It has a velcro closure to keep all of those cheerios inside (or dog treats or whatever!). This pouch is about 6x6 inches.

I am still working on the design details and would love feedback from friends and family. If you would like to test one out for me, post a comment to this post or send me an email! Once I get the design details worked out, I would like to add different sizes such as sandwich, gallon, etc. and possibly make a small lunch tote as well. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

A few other ideas I am currently working are goodies for your pets...I will post pics of the new stuff soon :)

89er Day Parade

Mom and I took the kids to the 89er day parade downtown Norman on Saturday. They really enjoyed it! One of the first participants, handed out little American Flags which the kids loved. It was awesome to see everyone lining the street waving thier flag with smiles beaming with pride for our country.

Waiting for the parade to begin....they didn't last more than 5 minutes in those strollers :)

It turned out to be a great picture day for Nathan. He rarely let's me take pics of him so today proved to be a photographic treat! So, bear with me on all the pics of my handsome little guy. Good pics of him are far and few between since he usually covers his face or makes a silly face when he sees me pull out the camera. I just love all of these expressions....I love how these are all typical Nathan faces :)

The Best Train Track Ever!

Nathan's train track engineering skills are becoming even more impressive. I am always amazed at what his 4 year old brain can put together. This latest track stretched almost the entire length of the living room. He constructed it after school on Friday and with only a little bit of help from mom and dad, every track looped back up to another track making one fabulous railroad town :)

Natalie is taking an interest in trains too. She calmly pushes the trains along the track quietly saying, "choo choo"....well, we assume that is what she is trying to say anyway :)

I just love to watch the kids play together. I hope they have a close relationship as they grow up. As of right now, Natalie thinks the world of her big brother and wants to be just like him. At school, the teachers have to pry them apart when they see each other in the lunch room. And, everyday when Natalie and I pick Nathan up from school, she runs to him as fast as she can with her arms stretched out and gives him the biggest hug you have ever seen. He hugs her back and everyone around oooh's and aaahhh's over them...then of course Nathan get's embarrassed and pushes her away :) From time to time, Nathan get's frustrated with Natalie taking his toys, but usually manage to work it out. They have their moments of course, but all in all they really enjoy each other's company and it's obvious that they love each other dearly.

The Streaker

Natalie has decided lately that she does not really need naps...or pajama's for that matter. I put her in her crib around 12:30 every afternoon just as I have for the past year. She is quiet for about 10 minutes and then the talking begins. She talks and sings until around 2 when she finally tires herself out and goes to sleep. I go in at 2:30 to wake her so we can go get Nathan from school and what do I find when I peek into her crib??? A naked baby sound asleep!!! She can unsnap and unzip her pj's...then takes the diaper off! Too funny. This has happened at least 3 times over the past couple of weeks. I have also found her running naked through the house ... you can't leave that baby unsupervised for more than 2 minutes or she will be unclothed!

Easter...more pics!!!

What a great holiday! We started the day with the traditional Easter Baskets which were a big hit this year. Nathan loves dinosaurs these days so I had a dino made for him and Natalie got a bunny and books. They both LOVED their goodies :)

Church was great....every seat was filled and the service was great as usual. Bruce is an amazingly gifted speaker and we are thankful to have found Wildwood.

We all managed to get in a 2 hour nap which was much needed by everyone :) Then we were off to Memaw and Papa's house for dinner. Jimmy and Echo were able to make it and we all had a great time. Memaw got the kids these bunnies that sing and flop their ears. Natalie was especially intrigued by them. She had all three going at the same time.

Easter

What a great start to the Easter weekend! The kids and I had lots of fun experimenting with "Easter Pancakes". We used food coloring to make pink, blue and green pancakes!!! Nathan did such a great job...he measured and mixed all of the ingredients, added the food coloring, stirred the coloring in, and then poured the pancakes onto the griddle. They were so yummy!

For lunch we headed down to the neighborhood park to meet up with family for an Easter get together. Everyone brought food and we had a little pic nic at the pavillion. The kids had so much fun gathering eggs with goodies inside.

After the pic nic Dan, Nancy and Kristel came by the house to visit for a while which was so nice. We don't get to see them as much as we would like so having them here for the day was a real treat :) We even got to meet Kristel's sweet puppy dog...Cookie :) All of the kids enjoyed loving on her!
